RENT on Saturday was absolutely amazing.

The theater was packed and the energy was killer. Watching Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal (the original Mark and Roger) made me realize this is how the show must be seen. I had serious chills by the time Adam and Mark finished their final notes on the song "Rent".

Tamyra Gray rocked as Mimi, her vocals were spot on. She did seem a bit awkward during the acrobatic dance moves on the fire escape as Mimi, but I'll chalk that up to her being new in the role. I loved the way she sang "Light My Candle" and "No Day But Today". She had serious killer chemistry with Adam Pascal and the two of them seemed to take every chance they could get to touch and kiss one another.

I wasn't impressed with Collins, but he held his own during "I'll Cover You - Reprise", which is one of my favorite songs of the show.

I was hoarse at the end from all the clapping and screaming after every song.

The standing ovation at the end felt like it went on forever.

I wish I could of hung out at the cast door, but the crowd was huge and I'm almost 35. Plus, I had a train to catch. If I were alone, though? I would have been a total fangirl.

Coming home on the train, I kept breaking out in song making my sisters and Ash laugh like loons.

If you ever have a chance, definitely go see the play no matter who's in the starring roles. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to see if I can find a bootleg recording of the show.

I'm awake. Alex awoke at the ass-crack of dawn, which is quite par the course for the nights I stay up until 4 am. At least the kids are leaving with my in-laws to go to the campgrounds for the night at 10. I'll be crawling right back in bed once they're gone, thankyouverymuch.

Anyway, DH spoiler in regards to the Weasleys )

I'm done with the book.

And I can't believe it's all over.

*long, drawn-out sob-filled sigh, knowing there will probably never be another book I anticipate as much as I've anticipated these silly children's books over the years*

Kept
by [info]setissma
Sam/Dean

Dean’s always known how to want, but he’s never quite gotten the hang of how to need, and it’s the in between that’s killing them, caught someplace Sam’s not sure they’re ever going to get out of. He remembers the first time they kissed, running high on adrenaline, all dilated pupils and unsteady hands, and Sam thinks, sometimes, that they ought to have been more careful, ought to have found a better place to put down roots and latch on.

And while I'm at it:

Radical Feminism
Sam/girl!Dean

Dean comes out to get him twenty minutes later, still dripping wet from his shower, wearing Sam’s brown hoodie and, from what Sam can tell, pretty much nothing else. He jerks open the back door of the Impala.

“Stop being so uptight and come play with my boobs, bitch,” Dean says, and tackles him.

Both of these are wonderful and I'm so happy [info]setissma is writing Supernatural.

Please leave her oodles of feedback.

In true Doctor Who fan fashion, I'm finding myself humming the sound of drums quite a bit lately.

I've been od'ing on the good Doctor lately, I caught up with Series 3 over the weekend and then figured maybe I'd better catch up on Series 2 while I was at it. Oh, Mickey. Oh, Rose.

So much Doctor in a very short time means my inner monologue, which never ever stops mind you, has begun speaking in an English accent. Cheerio!

*

This is my final week of classes, and I haven't decided if I'm going to take another Math course yet. I kinda want to, because (and trust me, I can't believe this either) I'm actually enjoying math. There's something relaxing about doing sums and memorizing rules.

Oh, the horror.

Anyway, I've got class tonight, class tomorrow, test # 5 and a final exam to take before class is over tomorrow.

If I do well on both, I may finish this course with an A!

Take algebra or not take algebra. That is the question on my mind lately.

Have you guys ever had a character come to you and he/she HAUNTS you?

Their story is slowly unfolding in small puzzle pieces and you're wondering what goes where and does this little piece fit into this one and if this one goes here, how will it impact that there and sheesh, what's the end result of this huge mess going to look like?

You've got all these questions swirling around in your head and man, the character is cooperating answering them as fast as they can and you can't decide...is THIS the one that becomes THAT story?

Is this the one that will allow you to make the jump from fanfic writer to a writer of original fiction?

I'm enamored by this character. This character is broken and jaded and scarred by something in the past and I just can't DECIDE if the character wants to have their story unfold in the SPN world or in a world of my own design.

So. Like I said, I've got these scenes in my head and I was wondering about YOUR process when you get a story idea.

Do you just fly by the seat of your pants and write or do you plot and write scenes using notecards and try and make the puzzle pieces fit into a complete picture?

Do you use a computer program or an old tattered notebook?

I'm genuinely interested.

To go to school or not to go to school, that is the question.

Technically, I don't have to. It's lab night and my lab score is already above where I need to be, so last night my professor said anyone at 80% or above could skip tonight's class.

HOWEVER.

I have a test I need to take. And I need to go to the security office and get my student ID.(!!!)

I can do this tomorrow. I can take Alex with me to get my ID and then go back and take the test after Scott comes home. It sure would be nice to see my husband tonight for longer than ten minutes.

Oh, procrastination, how thee vexes me so.

*

In other news, it's a millionity freaking degrees here. Bleah. I don't mind being hot, I just hate when I get all sweaty in places that really don't need to sweat. I'm thinking it's about time to turn on the air. Yay!

*

I wrote a Sam/Dean drabble this morning in case you missed it.

*

I think I'm gonna go fill up my son's little wading pool and do some feet soaking. Maybe I'll pretend I'm in Mexico with a cute little cabana boy named Juan fulfilling my every margarita and Corona need.

*

And finally, the boy graduates preschool on Saturday. Where's the year gone? No, seriously. Where'd it go? I'd like a few months back, at least.

Well. What do you know? Sometimes I even surprise myself.

Porn has been achieved and climaxes have been reached. Only took 8400 words to get it done.

I'll read through it in the morning and fix the many tense slips and the clunky exposition.

Stick a fork in me,ya'll I'm done. Yay!

Subject:Hi, I should be writing porn.
Security:Public

I've got seven thousand words written on this Dean/always been a girl!Sam story I'm fiddling with and the last part is the hardest. You know the part that actually involves sex? Yeah, that part. I'm hoping to have it done and beta'd and up by the end of the week, but it's not looking good.

You know, words shouldn't be so hard. They should just flow from my fingers like water and everything should be shiny and the grammar and dialog should be perfect and the characters should stay in character with little or no interruption from me.

Speaking of words, I started a class yesterday. Basic math 101. (Killer segue, yes?)

I haven't talked about this here at all, but I'm hoping to gain entrance to my county's LPN program this fall. In order to achieve this, I need to take a test with 11th grade math on it and pass. It's been seventeen years since I've done any math harder than balancing my check book.

Damn, writing that made me feel old.

I'm nervous. I feel like a big dork because I'm in remedial math, but at the same time, I'm proud of myself for taking the first step to finally gaining a career I can be proud of. And I did my homework tonight, so I'm all prepared for tomorrow's class!

So anyway.

Off I go. I got porn to write.

Hee!

ETA: What the fuck, universe? Three weeks ago, our refrigerator quit. We went away for the weekend, came back and everything was defrosted and nasty. Just five minutes ago, I heard our washer's gears start going slower and slower and then finally stop. I go into the basement and the fucker's dead.

Dammit.
